How to: Create a custom bullet for a bulleted list in Word 7.0.
Solution:
Select the lines to be bulleted. Select 'Bullets and Numbering...' from the 'Format' menu and click the 'Bulleted' tab. Click 'Modify...' and select bullet type.
To create a bullet using any character from any available font:
1) Select the desired lines to be made into a bulleted list.
NOTE: Each highlighted line will become a separate bulleted item.
2) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Bullets and Numbering...'. (The 'Bullets and Numbering' dialog box appears.)
3) Click the 'Bulleted' tab.
4) Click 'Modify...'. (The 'Modify Bulleted List' dialog box appears.)
5) Select the desired bullet type from the 'Bullet Character' group.
NOTE 1: A bullet type is selected when a highlighted rectangle appears around it.
NOTE 2: Click 'Bullet...' to change the shape of the selected bullet type.
6) Type the desired size for the bullet in the 'Point Size' box.
7) Select the entire color for the bullet from the 'Color' drop-down list box.
8) In the 'Bullet Position' group:
a) Type the desired text alignment in the 'Alignment of List Text' box.
b) Type the desired distance from the indent to the text in the 'Distance from Indent to Text' box.
c) Type the desired distance between the bullet and the beginning of the text it marks in the 'Distance from Bullet to Text' box.
d) Select or clear the 'Hanging Indent' check box.
NOTE: Look at 'Preview' to see how the selections will actually appear.
9) Click 'OK'.
